A member asked:

I've been getting my period for four years now. i am healthy. should my period be coming on a perfectly regular schedule? i am often a week early/late

Sadly, no: It can definitely be normal to have slight irregularity to one's cycle. Extremes of weight (thin/heavy) can sometimes contribute to this. As can thyroid issues. If it bothers you, birth control can help regulate, otherwise, so long as you're having a cycle on average every 3-5 weeks, it's normal.
