Depends: In the ideal situation, a chicken pox vaccine would fully protect you from chicken pox. For a vaccine to work, however, a functional immune system is necessary and a patient with jra on mtx may not respond to a vaccine normally. Probably the more likely explanation, however, is it is something else. Consider being seen by your md or a dermatologist where they could look and tell you the cause.

Yes but less likely: Anyone who has had the chicken pox vaccine can still get chicken pox. It may be much milder though. Also, some people don't respond to the chicken pox vaccine for a variety of reasons so the only way to know is to get chicken pox immunoglobulin levels checked. Any kids who are on Methotrexate for jia/jra can fight off chicken pox, but kids on Enbrel humira, or Remicade (infliximab) can get very sick--call doc.
