Medications?: Talk to her doctor. Most cases of bradycardia (low heart rate) are due to medications like some used for high blood pressure that also tend to decrease heart rate. If meds are checked and none are causing this, your doctor will likely refer to a cardiologist that will find the cause through a series of tests and start treatment.

Cause: Ecg should be done first to determine the rhythm and conduction. Medications should be reviewed as well. Certain medications such as betablockers lower heart rate which may need to be discontinued by her doctor. If symptomatic and/or with certain rhythm or conduction abnormalities, evaluation should be done to determine if she would benefit from a pacemaker.
