No: Drinking will knock out the effect of citalopram for up to 72 hours and could leave you suicidally depressed. Drinking. Causes depression as well in general and 65% of smokers develop depression at some point in their life. If you cannot stop drinking seek appropriate substance abuse counseling, psychotherapy for your depression and Campral or vivitrol for your drinking. Best wishes.
