Dr. Carlos Satulovsky answered

Specializes in Psychiatry

MD degree: Psychiatrists are md graduates from medical school (6 or 7 years in general) who entered after graduation in residencies to specialize for 4 or 5 extra years but already working as doctors with a state medical license (= can prescribe medications, for example). Psychotherapists are everyone, (including psychiatrists, psychologists and sometimes lcsw, etc) who provides "talking" therapies, regardless.
