Let her work it out: A primary tooth or 'milk tooth' is supposed to come out starting at this age- usually the bottom 2 front teeth, followed by the upper 2 front teeth. If there is pain, then it may be necessary to aid the child in it's removal. However, if at all possible, encourage the child to do it on her own. There is a sense of accomplishment when completed- not to mention a visit from the tooth fairy ;).

Concur: I concur w dr kim's answer. As the root of the baby tooth dissolves away the edge of the enamel crown may be sharp and irritating. If your daughter is uncomfortable, a visit to the tooth fairy's helper, her dentist, may be in order. Also know that when baby teeth begin to fall out it's time for your daughter's 1st visit to the orthodontist for an examination (1st visit usually complimentary).
