Could be serious: Possibilities are several. Poorly controlled diabetes, that is her sugar levels are high. It could be a bad bladder infection which needs to be treated soon. It can also be progressive overactive bladder at her age. In all situations she needs to see a doctor soon.

Perhaps: Uncontrolled diabetes may cause urinary frequency as well as a bladder infection or overactive bladder. All are treatable and deserves a visit to the doctor.
