More than a pad/hr: Heavy vaginal bleeding is usually defined as saturating more than a full (not mini) menstrual pad or tampon per hour for at least 2 or more hours. It can also be defined by the number of pads per day, but this can vary from doctor to doctor. If this is a persistent problem, then you should see your doctor for evaluation and treatment options.
