Sorry: Your doctorhas a good conservative approach. Most back pain will improve with rest. If you have a negative neurologic exam and negative imaging i agree with your doctor.

See a Spine : Specialist for additional advice. 1st you need a complete examination, evaluation, ; if this has been on going for a while, x-rays, ; possibly MRI may be also indicated. But the exact treatment needed depends on the exact diagnosis. You will be told your diagnosis, ; the recommended treatments. It may or may not be coming from your spine. Depending on diagnosis, treatments like nsaids, pt, may help.
