Scar Healing: A scar forms when there is healing of an injury to the tissues. Remember that with almost all wounds, healing continues for months and months as we change the stress on the tissues. A scar forms as a result and may have many different appearances and colors. Any dark coloration may fade over time but the tissues never are the same and so some scarring will always be there.

Scars fade: If you protect the scar from further trauma and uv light, it will fade with time/ many can become nearly invisible! there are things which can improve scars such as silicone gel sheeting or pressure/massage. Most surgeons recommend waiting at least 6-12 months before you try a scar revision as frequently it will fade so well, any further surgery is a waste!
