Celiac, gluten wheat: Wheat intolerance can be gluten intolerance caused by celiac dz. Celiac has many systemic symptoms, joint pains are certainly part. Celiac.Org has a nice breakdown. If you think this is the issue see ur dr discuss labs that can help diagnose this condition +/- a scope (egd) with small biopsy to help confirm. It is very common but luckily very treatable many products now are "gluten free.".

Yes it can: Wheat contains gluten. People can be intolerant of this yet not have celiac disease. Some symptoms can be mental fogginess, joint pains, swelling, GI cramping, diarrhea, etc. You could have tests for food sensitivities to find this out. More economically though, you could try an elimination diet for a few weeks and then reintroduce wheat for 1 meal q 3-4 days. Your response may tell the tale.
