Not necessarily: The higher rate of alcohol problems among native-americans can only in part be explained on the basis of genetic predisposition. This country's horrible history of oppression of native american peoples and the impact of this on this group - poverty, lost cultural and religious practices and many others is likely more important. If you have a strong family history, avoid/lessen alcohol if you can.
