Alcohol ; Pregnancy: In recovery from alcoholism we learn that we can not change the past. But, we can change the present. Your baby will be healthier and have better neurological functioning if you do not drink today or tomorrow. Having regrets is normal and the best way to make amends to your child is to stay sober now.

Hard to tell..: Most first trimester teratogens have an all-or-nothing effect on the developing embryo; that may not be true for alcohol exposure, though, as no dose is considered safe during pregnancy. Fetal alcohol syndrome may occur as a result and cannot be diagnosed until after delivery. Please avoid any further alcohol consumption and notify your pediatrician of this exposure. Best of luck!
