What to give my newborn (6wks) for a cold?

Saline nose drops: You should get the baby checked by the pediatrician if baby is irritable, running fever, not feeding well and if breathing fast for just nasal congestion without any other symptoms you can use saline nasal drops followed by gentle suction till you see the pediatrician.

Little noses: Irritants like perfume ; dust can make the nose swell inside and the mucous they make may rattle. Most newborns have irritant issues instead of colds.Until they are older the nose is responsible for 90% of their air exchange.Nasal wash out with saline and gentle suction helps. Removing fragrances or other irritants from their space helps. If fussy or running fever they should see their doc.
