Probably not: Predmet is Methylprednisolone which is a steroid and should be avoided if at all possible. There are many proven ways to treat chronic hives that don't involve steroids and are proven (unlike homeopathy). An allergist or dermatologist comfortable with taking care of chronic hives can be a good resource.

Could be: Your mother would not want to stop predmet suddenly -- this would need to be tapered. Homeopathy could be a helpful option, if she consults with an experienced homeopathic doctor to take her case.
