Sciatica pain: Sciatica may be induced by arthritis. A lot of case of "sciatica" are si joint pain. At night, decreased activity and stimulants, decreased endorphine secretion, patient may feel more inflammatory induced pain. That is way you feel more arthritis pain at night. See your doctor and have nsaids treatment combined with local temperature modality applications. Avoid short acting narcotics prolong use.

Spine Injury: This chronic pain in the distribution as you suggested is the result of an irritated nerve or facet joints or other injury typically in the lumbar spine (low back) which are caused by herniated disks, spinal stenosis or degenerative disc disease, etc requiring further evaluation by a spine specialist. The joint pain may signify some sort of degenerative joint disease taking place.
