Dr. David Trettin answered
33 years experience Orthopedic Surgery
Arthroscopy: For a young person arthroscopic meniscal repair is the best solution. If the meniscus is not repairable or is in a portion of the meniscus that has a poor blood supply("white/ white" zone) , then arthroscopic partial medial menisectomy is best.Meniscal tears generally do not heal and cause pain, ' catching' etc. Even in young pts. See your ors who is proficient @ arthroscopy. Good luck!
