Incomplete info: Elevated SGPT is a sign of liver disease. A level of 89 is not too high but could still represent liver disease. The treatment had to be directed at the cause of the liver damage. It is not feasible to diagnose the cause without a detailed history, physical examination and may be additional investigation. It would be prudent to discuss the matter with your doctor.
