Not common, but: Can happen. No way to tell if it's due to the Onglyza (saxagliptin) (which would be very uncommon) except to stop it and see what happens. Onglyza (saxagliptin) is usually added to metformin, not substituted for it, in fact, there is a combination pill with both drugs in it.
