Insomnia: You will likely encounter insomnia although this should improve over time. You may find it helpful to take a half tablet of zopiclone for a few nights before total discontinuation. Talk to your prescribing doctor. Stay safe!

No: There are no reports of permanent amnesia. Zopiclone's active portion, Eszopiclone is available in the us as lunesta (eszopiclone). Zopiclone itself is not available in the us.

A 16-year-old male asked:
My doctor prescribed me zopiclone, even when i told him my past abuse of it. It seems to not be as effective. How long should I try it out for?

I don't like to be: Critical, but if you already told your doctor that you abused it before, why would it be prescribed again, and why would you be willing to take it again. I think you should address these issues. Never stop medication without discussing it with your physician. However, there are certainly many other options for insomnia that carry no risk for addiction.

A 20-year-old male asked:
I work in 5 hours. I took 7.5mg zoplicone will I be able to work ?
2 doctor answers • 3 doctors weighed in

Dr. Michael Benoit answered

Not sure: Zoplicone is a hyponotic to help with insomnia. The maximum suggested dose is 7.5mg in 24 hours and the half life (the time to get to half of the highest concentration in your blood) is 5 hours. The effects can vary based off many of your own body's ability to tolerate the drug and metabolize it. Operating any heavy machinery while on the drug would not be advised.

Check with Embasy: It is my understanding that if you have a prescription and bring the medication in a labeled bottle from the pharmacy, this is legal. However, I am not an attorney and cannot give a legal opinion. Please check with legal authorities.
