Sids: Sleeping in a sitting position in a car seat should be safe for your baby.

Not at greater risk: I don't believe that she would be at greater risk forces. However, one has to wonder why she would only sleep sitting up in a car seat. Therefore you may wish to have her pediatrician check her out and see whether perhaps she has some gastroesophageal reflux problems that caused her to be uncomfortable when lying flat on her back. No harm letting her sleep in the car seat until all of that is sorted out. Best wishes.
