Fomivirsen 165 mcg : Fomivirsen/vitravene (isis 2922) an antisense nucleotide, given by intravitreal injection for cytomegalovirus retinitis in aids patients, significantly delays progression of cytomegalovirus retinitis. 165mcg every week x3, then every other week. With advanced sight-threatening disease 330mcg q wk x 3 weeks, then q 2 wks or 330mcg day 1 ; 15, then monthly, delayed disease progression.
