Scientific Rx: If topical benzoyl peroxide (as you can tolerate it) has not cleared you in two weeks, get with your personal physician. Benzoyl peroxide is inexpensive and available over the counter at any pharmacy. Your physician may add a topical retoic acid derivative, a topical antibiotic, try you on the oral contraceptive pill if appropriate, or a systemic medication. It's manageable.

See a Dermatologist: There are different types of acne and various combinations of acne blemishes. For an acne treatment to be effective, the patient's condition should be evaluated by a dermatologist. A good starting point, until a dermatologist can be consulted, is benzoyl peroxide 5%.
