cystic acne: Acne is often difficult to treat, but the misconception is that scarring from acne can be 'medicated' away. It can't. While acne is always treated with pills and topical medication, it unfortunately will take surgical treatment skills and expert management with lasers, chemical peels, and the like to treat the scarring.

Strong Rx: Even oral Doxycycline will not clear cystic acne, and although the oral contraceptive pill sometimes works, i see that in your case it has not. It's time to hunker down and ask yourself whether you are willing to make a trial of Isotretinoin if a dermatologist offers it to you. It is not totally safe, and it is definitely not for the faint-hearted. Get seen and discuss this option forthrightly.
