Reflux: At one time if a child had grade 3 reflux he was placed on prophylactic antibiotics. Nowadays, the child's progress isobserved.

Vesico-Ureteric : Reflux: he has hydronephrosis due to reflux disease on right; means, when u. Bladder contracts during pee, jet of urine backflow throu rt. Ureter to kidney causing damage. There is recurrent UTI due to residual urine in bladder. Your urologist definitely explained this. When there is uti, full dose of antibiotic given as per susceptibility; to prevent further infection: prophylactic abx continued.
