A member asked:

What is the function of bacteria in our digestive system?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Bacteria: We have bacterial and other microorganisms as part of our systems on all integumentary surfaces (skin and mucous membranes). They play differing roles in our body. Some provide for degradation of food substances, some we have not worked out the function for. You need to take a course in microbiology since cannot be all explained here.
