perfectly normal: There's nothing wrong with a hr of 50. Some people are born with "complete heart block" (a rhythm distrurance) and have normal resting hr of 40 with no symptoms. Your heart increases its cardiac output as needed by increasing its stroke volume so hr is not the only mechanism and therefore not critically important.
