A member asked:

Is it normal for a male 22 with resting hr of 50-60 even if not athletic or do any exercise? i've had ecg and echo no problems. i do have dysautonomia

A doctor has provided 1 answer

perfectly normal: There's nothing wrong with a hr of 50. Some people are born with "complete heart block" (a rhythm distrurance) and have normal resting hr of 40 with no symptoms. Your heart increases its cardiac output as needed by increasing its stroke volume so hr is not the only mechanism and therefore not critically important.
