A member asked:

Doctors say that lattice degeneration develops at an age of 12 or so, only now i am having the symptoms. true? does that mean it won't progress later?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

early warning: Lattice is a protective reaction gluing the retina down when it is stretched in eye development. It is an area of weakness and the site of retinal detachments commonly in traumatized eyes. Most with lattice never get into trouble, and it usually causes no symptoms. But is worth an occasional look by your ophthalmologist.
