Seek treatment: Once you have had a migraine for several days , it becomes a mixed headache with some stress and tension factors. The medications used to stop migraine at the start of the headache no longer work. You do not mention what you tried, but call your doctor for treatment. Make sure you are getting enough sleep and are not dehydrated which can make headaches worse.

Botox and Surgery: Long term relief of migraines can be achieved with botox. If you have a good response, you may be a candidate for surgery. Surgery has been shown to dramatically decrease the frequency and intensity of migraines. www.themigrainereliefcenter.com.

There are many good: Many drugs have ability to relive and prevent migraines. The best medicines which invariably work are triptans like sumatriptan(imitrex). Unless you have already received a triptan without benefit, you do not need to get into anything more complicated. A neurologist is the best specialist to seek advice for further treatment.
