habits/exposures: Mrsa account for 70% or more of the small to large abscesses i drain yearly at my office. They are all community acquired rather than hospital based and reflect a change in the % of staph with this feature.Staph is everywhere, and whether or not you get an abscess depends somewhat on how attractive you are to mosquitos or other bugs and personal habits (scratching, picking).
