It gets confusing...: Our gestational dating standard is to count from someone's lmp, not from the date of actual conception, as people are more apt to know that date. As such, whenever you hear someone described as 7 weeks pregnant, it usually means that are only 5 +/- 1 weeks along, consider ovulation is usually 2 weeks out from their lmp. With that in mind, these number might make more sense in your head.
