A member asked:

My dogs were diagnosed with whipworm. could my husband and i have it? i hear it can be from contaminated water. could it be our water? how do we know?

Infected feces: People can get whipworm.. The eggs are passed through the feces of infected people or animals. Unless you get your water from a contaminated well, it is an unlikely source. A mild infection may not cause any symptoms or you may experience. The best prevention is frequent handwashing, especially before handling food. Clean your yard of any dog feces.
