Lots of things...: ...Can cause facial pain, for a sinus infection to shingles (which sometimes occurs without the rash) to nerve disturbances to other kinds of infections. Your doctor will be able to narrow down the differential for you.

Maybe lots of things: Fcial pain can be referred from another part of your body to the face, i.e. Heart attack. You may have neuralgia type pain which is the nerve itself acting up due to some irritant or inflammation. Best to get checked out by a dentist or neurologist.
