Herpes: If she did not have any active lesions, she is unlikely to be shedding virus. Hsv-1 is the virus that causes cold sores and almost all adults have had the virus. Some people who have the virus get painful cold sores many times while others have them once and never again.

Maybe: Studies confirm that many people have been exposed to hsv-1. Your friend would have to be shedding virus in order for you to possible contact the virus. Many of us acquire herpes type 1 in childhood.
