Fatigue, dryness: An irritated eye surface from dryness or significant fatigue (which certainly can be linked to high stress levels) are the most common causes for eyelid twitching. If the twitch extends down to involve one side of the face, see your doctor as you need a more serious issue evaluated (hemifacial spasm, rarely caused by a tumor). If both eyes twitch simultaneously, again, see your eye doctor.
