Cannot diagnose: This sounds like further work-up is needed. Shivering and shaking is the mechanism by which you generate fever from increased muscle activity. Quinine may be effective in controlling this, but the answer here is to find out what is going on. I hope that you are seeing a pcp, possibly a general internist. If not, would make an appt and take a full detailed history and all records with you. Best.
