Hormones: Often when the length or amount of blood in a period changes it's due to changes in hormones. Anything longer than 7 days is considered abnormal. You may want to see doctor to discuss. Treatment could be to take birth control pills to regulate cycle and diminish significantly the # of days you bleed.
