on any test--: --you need to read its specific instructions for the 'read between' window--any dipstick style test (with specially coated paper) will take a certain amount of time to produce its result (+ or -), and it will fade as the material is consumed / paper dries. It is not usually a function of cost--the majority of home pregnancy tests are the same as ones used in dr's offices.
