After missed period: Blood test may be positive one day after a missed period. Home pregnancy test using urine may also be positive one day after missed period, but a negative result will not rule out pregnancy. It is better to wait 4-5 days after missed period to do hpt, use first morning urine and follow the instructions carefully.
