Sleep inertia: No you do not suffer from hypersomnia if you have a difficult time getting out of bed in the morning. Hypersomnia is just the medical terminology for a state of excessive sleepiness and is not a diagnostic term. It is actually normal to have a difficult time getting out of bed in the am and to feel sluggish for the first 30-45 minutes. This is known as sleep inertia.
