Posture ; ergonomics: Reduce your neck pain by improving your posture ; ergonomics while reading. Place book at eye level w/head up. Check out http://helpmyreading.Com/site/proper_reading_posture.Html. Change duration of reading by taking short breaks ; exercising/stretching. All this also depends upon what you're reading, eg fun vs studying. Best wishes!

neck pain: First, consider getting an eye exam to make sure your visual acuity is ok. Try getting into a reading position that allows you to look straight ahead at your book. When you do have neck pain, try using a heating pad for 15 min at a time every 2-4 hours. Massage of the neck and shoulders can help too.
