Yes: In fact in some women it can last until the beginning of the next cycle, although in most it lasts for several hours to 1-2 days. See article on it at www.Wikipedia.Com. Best wishes. Nb in cases like yours they should call it mittel-bis-sclussschmerz. ( middle to end pain)!

Mittelschmerz: Mittelschmerz is a term used to describe ovulatory pain. Generally it is noted to occur at mid-cycle, when ovulation is occurring and lasts for 2-3 days. If pain persists beyond ovulation, a persistent ovarian cyst may be present that warrants further investigation.
