If people become immune to herpes after awhile, does that mean they become less infectious or see less outbreaks ?

Probably not.: I have never heard of anyone officially 'immune' to herpetic lesions. Herpes is a virus that once exposed, remains in the human body and can be triggered by many known and unknown causes.
