A 25-year-old member asked:

if i tested positive for hsv2 antibodies but have never had an outbreak/symptoms, do i actually have herpes and am i contagious?

Past exposure: The antibodies are protein products produced to react against HSV 2, if you test positive you have had an exposure in the past and may carry the virus currently. So you have a risk of being contagious and should take appropriate precautions depending upon the circumstances. (joke: what's the difference between love and herpes. Answer: herpes is forever).

Antibodies: The positive antibody indicates that at some point you have been infected with herpes. It can be transmitted without an eruption being present. It us usually transmitted by skin contact.

I had a blister on my toe but the skin broke and now there is just a piece of skin hanging there and it hurts. What do I do? When will it heal?

The loose skin : Should be trimmed away, the blister cleaned, then dressed with an antibiotic ointment and then covered with a band aid. It will take a few days, but the soreness will gradually decrease as the skin under the blister dries out and toughens up.

Doctor can evaluate: For new onset of asthma symptoms in an adult, he can see and follow-up with his primary care doctor. If symptoms are difficult to get rid of, or are unusual, the patient can see an allergy & asthma specialist, and/or see a pulmonologist (lung doctor). Pulmonary function tests and allergy tests can be helpful when looking for the best treatments. For bad symptoms, the E.R. Is the place to go to.

Unlikely: If all testing negative, i doubt it. You may have simply not ovulated last cycle and that is why you are so late. Are your periods normally regular? Check with your obgyn and good luck.
