Varicose veins: You should not have varicose veins treated if you plan on getting pregnant soon. Pregnancy will worsen venous pressure making varicose veins more visible. Unless you have ulcers from those veins, you should wait. Use compression stockings throughout he pregnancy as much as possible.

Compression stocking: Wear compression stockings from a medical supply store: 20-30 mmhg as frequently as you can tolerate. Continue to wear them until hormonal changes are over - when you are done breast feeding. Walk or exercise regularly. Avoid excessive pregnancy weight fluctuation (obs shoot for ~30-35 lbs in normal weight women) and elevate your legs while resting. And have good genes.

Varicose Veins: There is not really a single "best" treatment, as treatments are tailored to your specific anatomy. Ultrasound is needed. The most common treatments are endovenous ablation with laser or radiofrequency energy, stab phlebectomies, and sclerotherapy. Often a combination of therapies is needed. Vascular surgeons are considered the "vein experts" as they can offer all possible treatment options.
