Not directly: Proteinase 3 ab is an antibody used in evaluating patients suspected of having wegener's granulomatosis (wg), a type of inflammation of the blood vessels (vasculitis). Wg is a rare autoimmune vasculitis that can affect the kidneys and the lungs, as well as other organs. Persons with wg may be at increased risk to develop cancer of the bladder, kidney, and skin as well as leukemia or lymphoma.
