Is it pancreatitis or an ulcer, how can i tell?

A simple lab...: Typically, pancreatitis is described as sharp epigastric pain that radiates to the back, worsens with food intake, particularly fatty food. Ulcers are more in the epigastrium that may or may not radiate. But the 2 do overlap sympatomatically. A very simple blood test (amylase/lipase) would tell the difference. These are typically elevated in pacreatitis.
