Inflammation....: The cough could be causing inflammation in your throat which, in turn, makes you cough more. You need to get your cough diagnosed and treated by your doctor. Once the cough resolves, your throat pain is likely to resolve as well. If you smoke, you need to quit asap. If the throat pain persists, see an ear/nose/throat doctor for diagnosis/treatment.
