Yellow teeth: Tooth brushing, toothpaste and mouth rinses cannot change the color of your teeth. Teeth normally darken with age. Teeth also stain from smoking, tea and coffee. If you want to whiten your teeth, see your dentist. Have your teeth cleaned at least 2 x a year. Brush and floss properly. And have them whitened by a method recommended by your dentist.

Whiter teeth: If you brush your teeth 'tooth hard' or too often, you can prematurely wear away tooth structure and damage your gums as well. If you want whiter teeth, first have your teeth professional cleaned, then keep them clean with proper TB and flossing (ask your dentist to show you how), and if still not happy, discuss tooth whitening methods with your dentist.
