A member asked:

How long does it take for tobacco use not to show on a blood test?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Variable 7-10 days: The half life of nicotine metabolite, cotinine, is, on average 16 hours, but there are many factors affecting the blood level. A safe interval would be about 7 days. Note that urine may test positive even longer. See this site for more info. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/pmc2953858/.
